The Oakville & Milton Humane Society has space for about 200 animals who come to them because their owners can no longer care for them, or because they are lost, abandoned or abused.

Throughout the years, the Oakville & Milton Humane Society has retained its primary mission of addressing animal welfare issues as well as providing food, shelter and care for the many stray and unwanted pets in their community.

The Gordon and Patricia Gray Animal Welfare Foundation helped the OMHS purchase a new Cargo Van to be used for the rescue of animals and wildlife in distress in Oakville and Milton. A critical part of the OMHS's work involves keeping the Animal Protection Officers (APS) and their vehicles safely on the road so they can respond to calls--often traveling to remote areas. At over ten years old each, both APS vans had fallen into disrepair and the prospect of maintaining their 24/7 call service without proper transportation was at risk, so the new truck was very much needed.
