Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre has been rehabilitating injured, sick and orphaned wildlife for their return to the wild since 1984. The WHRC is building a new facility this year in Ile des Chênes, Manitoba. They have secured 18 acres of land for a permanent $2.5 million wildlife hospital and education centre to care for and rehabilitate injured and orphaned wildlife, provide outreach and education services to the community and engage volunteers in a rewarding experience.

In addition to the wildlife hospital and education centre, there will be a variety of enclosures for the rehabilitation of injured and orphaned wildlife, including a flyway that allows for birds to exercise and practice flying prior to release and a waterfowl enclosure with ponds for them to swim about.

The Gordon and Patricia Gray Animal Welfare Foundation helped fund the new 100 ft. long x 20 ft. wide x 16 ft. high flyway to house smaller raptors such as owls and falcons. It is constructed with steel posts and metal panelling, with stainless steel meshing on the top along and netting on the side to protect the birds' feathers. There are perches at each end in order for the birds to fly from one end to the other.
