Spotted owl breeding program
BC Conservation Foundation
The mission of the British Columbia Conservation Foundation is to make a positive contribution to the conservation of BC's fish, wildlife and habitat through the provision of administrative, project management and technical field services. They work closely both with partners and independently to undertake projects in fish, wildlife habitat inventories, research, enhancement, restoration, resource stewardship and environmental education. With their provincial network of biologists and technicians, expertise in fundraising and capabilities in partner building, they bring people and resources together to achieve conservation success.
The Northern Spotted Owl is one of Canada’s most endangered species with only about ten individuals left in the wild in British Columbia. A donation by the The Gordon and Patricia Gray Animal Welfare Foundation was used to fund the Northern Spotted Owl breeding program.
